As you may be aware, we are using gems as our reward system this year. We aim to reward students for positive behaviour that may demonstrate high levels of gratitude, empathy, kindness, compassion, confidence or choices that are good for their learning.
As we know, the kids are all human and will sometimes fall short of these standards and make mistakes at school. As a 5/6 team, we have decided that we will be using a 3 Strike system to deal with serious misbehaviour in the classroom or playground. The way this will work is by our team discussing incidents or patterns of misconduct and coming to a joint agreement about when a strike is issued. Should a strike be given, a phone call home will be made so that you are aware of the decision. If a student receives 3 strikes, they will be excluded from privileges such as excursions, incursions, sports days and the like.
