Task – draw an illustration whilst under your table and then ‘write’ about it.

Learning behind the task –

  • understanding that a spoken sound can be represented by a written letter
  • understanding that making a mistake is a part of learning and the more we practise, the better we get!

At this stage of the year, our ‘writing’ will look different from one child to another. Some children may be in the experimenting stage and ‘writing’ with random closed shapes, others will be representing sounds in words with corresponding letters. Both are common and expected in Term 1.
