Grade 1 Community Walk Excursion

Today the Grade One students were excited to attend our excursion to the local post office and fire station. On our walk to the fire station the students enjoyed engaging in discussions about some of the places within our local community. At the post office, we posted letters to our penpals. At the fire station students participated in enriched discussions around the roles and responsibilities of fire fighters and how they positively impact our local community.

Students also talked about the importance of working smoke detectors and having a fire plan. Do you have a fire plan and working smoke detectors?

Overall, the students had a fantastic morning and were very excited to see the fire trucks and water hoses in use.
